HELPING THOSE WHO ARE HEALING

Community (noun):
1. a group of people who live in the same area (such as a city, town, or neighborhood)
2. a group of people who have the same interests, religion, race, etc.

Safety and Security help build better communities and Tutela’s community outreach programs are focused on providing the resources for helping those in need. Over the past five years we have dedicated ourselves to providing more time, resources, and expertise to the communities we live and work in. As part of our community outreach, we work closely with our returning veterans through the Wounded Warriors Project (WWP) – Warriors to Work program. Through the WWP, we help prepare our veterans for the transition to public and private job placements. These American Heroes need guidance in resume preparation, interview skills, and networking activities as means to find their next career outside of the military.

Families are the cornerstone of communities and too often women and children, through the breakdown of the family structure, are entered into an unintentional situation where they are forced to survive by their own means. This breakdown may come through living in perpetual poverty or through the horrors of domestic violence. Two additional organizations that Tutela supports are St. Mary’s Center outside of Boston, MA and the Domestic Violence Crisis Center in the Metro NYC region. These organizations provide women and children the opportunity to regain stability in their lives and receive counseling in safe facilities. By providing equipment and volunteering time to install and maintain this equipment, we help secure these facilities and provide a sense of comfort and security.

“The Wounded Warrior Project has to work closely with public organizations and private corporations to assist our returning veterans. We rely on our WWP alumni and veterans who have previously made the transition from the military to the business world to help this generation and we would like to thank Tutela for providing their business expertise and supporting our Warriors to Work programs.”
